Constitutional Amendment: Vacant Committee Representatives
Proposed by the Constitutional Affairs Committee
Conference notes the discrepancy in the constitution regarding cross-over representation from one committee to another, and that logic dictates that they cannot all be in place at the same time to be able to elect officers and other committee representatives.
Conference therefore ratifies the decision of the decision of the Constitutional Affairs Committee to make the following amendment to the Constitution of the Welsh Liberal Democrats:
In clause G.8 Insert “They shall also elect a Permanent voting alternate should the representative not be able to attend a meeting of that committee,” at the end.
Insert new clause G.9 and renumber subsequent clauses:
“The President or an Executive Officer may substitute for a representative or the elected permanent alternate from the committee which they chair to another committee at meetings of the other committee, if either:
1. The representative or alternate cannot attend a meeting of the other
2. The positions of representative or alternate to another committee are ”
