Save Free TV Licences!

The Liberal Democrats in Wales are campaigning to keep free TV licences for many over 75s.

The Conservative Government has scrapped free TV licences from 1st August, which will impact on over 165,000 older residents in Wales.

The Liberal Democrats want to see the Government step in and provide funding to reinstate free licences given the crisis we are facing. We are also calling for an independent body to review the license fee going forward.

During the pandemic, the TV has been a lifeline for many elderly residents who’ve taken the government’s advice and stayed at home.

We call on the Government to reinstate the free TV licences for the over 75s.
