Following the news today that the annual Six Nations Rugby Union Tournament will remain available on free to air TV, Welsh Liberal Democrat leader Jane Dodds, who's party campaigned against a possible move to pay per view, has described the news as a victory for the fans.
Jane Dodds MS said:
"This is a victory first and foremost for the fans. For too long big businesses have tried to mussel in and cash in on our national game.
"Everyone fan who wrote in, signed a petition or lobbied their parliamentarians can hold their heads high this weekend.
“The Six Nations and their predecessors have been a staple of Welsh life for generations and I hope fans old and new will continue to watch the games for years to come."
