Scrap the Severn Bridge Tolls

625 of 1,000 signatures

The Liberal Democrats have pledged to scrap the Severn Bridge tolls if in Government after the next election. These tolls are a genuine strain on Welsh businesses, and they shouldn't be used as a money-maker by either the Welsh or UK Governments.

Scrapping the Severn Bridge tolls would help boost the Welsh economy by around £107 million, as well as save the average commuter £1,536 a year. Our plans are supported by a number of businesses - including one who spends half a million pounds a year on the tolls, which is money they could otherwise spend on hiring more staff.

Labour, the Tories and Plaid Cymru have consistently supported keeping tolls of some form in place. Only the Liberal Democrats will scrap this unfair tax on entering Wales.
