Monica has a wide range of knowledge and experience gained from working over the years in a diverse range of areas.
She set up and ran several successful local businesses in the tourism and hospitality industry, an area vital to the economy of Wales.
While her children were young she chaired the Governing body of a Carmarthen Primary School. Children only get one chance at their education and now more than ever we have to make sure our children are given every possible opportunity to get a good education.
Monica was appointed to the Board of Llanelli Dinefwr NHS Trust as a Non Executive Director going on to be appointed to the Carmarthenshire NHS ending up as Chair. At the reorganisation of the health service in Wales in 2008 Monica moved to work for the Nursing and Midwifery Council for 8 years Chairing fitness to practice panels.
Ten years ago Monica helped to save Dryslwyn Post Office and shop setting up a volunteer community project which is still thriving and has been hugely appreciated by the local community especially during the pandemic.
As a candidate in recent county council elections Monica campaigned hard for better broadband for rural communities in Wales.
