The Welsh Liberal Democrats have been campaigning across Wales urging MPs to oppose the Government’s hard Brexit plans and to vote to give EU nationals living in the UK the right to stay.
Campaigners have been speaking to people across Wales about the importance of the Single Market for our economy and have been delivering leaflets, running street stalls, and knocking doors in communities across Wales.
The event was part of the Liberal Democrats' national day of campaigning on Europe with over 100 events taking place across the UK.
Leader of the Welsh Liberal Democrat Brexit, Mark Williams MP, commented:
“People are telling us they are deeply concerned about this Government’s divisive hard Brexit plans and are disappointed that Labour have lined up to support the Tories.
“Whether they voted to Leave or Remain, people are worried about the consequences Theresa May’s reckless decision to leave the Single Market will have on our economy and insistence on using EU nationals as bargaining chips.
“This weekend we sent a clear message that those who don’t support the direction our country is going in should join the Liberal Democrats, the real opposition to this Brexit Government."
