Candidate for Aberconwy
Sarah is a mother of three children and an employment law advisor.
Sarah moved to North Wales with her Welsh mother and family at the age of 13. Born in Nottingham, she returned to the city in 1991 to complete a law degree and to then continue to study for a diploma. On completion of her studies, Sarah returned to North Wales and started a career as a trainee tax advisor to an accountancy practice based in Colwyn Bay.
Subsequently, Sarah worked for a local gas and oil consultancy company as a consultant and manager, overseeing contracts in the Middle East, UK and Europe, as well as managing operations in Italy and India.
In 2004 Sarah established her HR / employment law company. The company provides bespoke employment law advice and support to employees and SME’s across North and Mid Wales.
Sarah is a community councillor, chair of a local sports association, treasurer of an afterschool club and secretary of a branch of the Welsh Liberal Democrats. Formerly of Old Colwyn, she lives in Glan Conwy with her ex managing director husband and their children.
She said “I firmly believe in fairness and equality, The Liberal Democrats are rebuilding Britain’s economy to offer opportunity for all. My motto is: the sun only rises for those who set out to meet it."
Sarah is very concerned about the opportunities for young people in this area. "I think the best thing we can do for our children is to give them a good education to equip them for the skilled jobs that local employers struggle to fill. That’s why I welcome the Pupil Deprivation Grant secured by our AMs in Wales, like the pupil premium in England the extra money for schools will boost the chances of the children that need it most.”
