Commenting on the news that employment has grown across both the UK and Wales, Eluned Parrott AM, Welsh Liberal Democrat Shadow Economy Minister said:
"These figures are indeed encouraging. Welsh Liberal Democrats are working to build a stronger economy in which individuals and businesses can grow and prosper. We need the Welsh and British Governments to be working together to ensure that jobs and opportunities are created and that individuals feel able and motivated to apply for these roles.
"A big challenge facing both governments now is to tackle youth unemployment, which in Wales remains stubbornly high.
"Whilst the fall in unemployment is pleasing I remain concerned that with an unemployment rate of 8.2%, Wales is still behind the UK average and that of Scotland, Northern Ireland and most regions of England and we are seeing little sign of movement."
