“First Time Buyers need ‘Help to Buy’ now” - Peter Black AM

Responding to the statistics released today showing that the average House Price had increased by 1.0% over the last 12 months, the Welsh Liberal Democrats Housing Spokesperson, Peter Black, has called on the Welsh Labour Government to get the Help to Buy Cymru scheme up and running as soon as possible.

"The people of Wales need support to buy their own home now. The failure of the Welsh Labour Government to get Newbuy Cymru off the ground cannot be repeated as the price of houses goes up.

"I am pleased that our economy is making a slow stagger forward but this means buyers need more support to buy their home. I welcomed the extra funding for Help to Buy Cymru in the draft budget but we need a launch date as soon as physically possible.

Homebuyers have already been let down by the Welsh Labour Government. Buyers in England already have support from the Coalition Government. Let's give Welsh homebuyers the support they need now.
